A Strategic Initiative in the East Midlands

KLW are thrilled to be providing planning services to Verdant Regeneration, to secure planning permission for the commercial development of New Stanton Park. The site is a market ready location for large scale industry in the region. Erewash Borough has long held untapped potential through its strategic location, rich industrial heritage, and a network of towns and villages that will benefit from long term investment in the local and national economy.

The intention of the proposed redevelopment of the former ironworks has been to plan for strategic commercial development which makes efficient use of the site and its excellent transport links, and brings economic investment and employment opportunities to Erewash Borough, while responding to national demand for high quality industrial and logistics space.

Outline planning permission was obtained in August 2022 for 261,471 sq m of B2 (industrial), Eg (iii) (light industrial) and B8 (storage and warehousing) development, along with the provision of a large Biodiversity Enhancement Area within the site, a new spine road, and land for offsite highways improvements.  Plot 1 is now under construction, and the remediation and levelling of the entire site is almost complete.

KLW is working on behalf of Verdant Regeneration to deliver commercial development on the site, in the context of the outline permission. Our in depth knowledge of the site enables us to advise the clients on planning strategy, to deliver the preparation and submission of reserved matters and full planning applications, and to engage positively with the Local Planning Authority and with local communities. As well as the extant permission, we have also subsequently obtained planning permission for complementary uses on the site, including 22 fast charging EV charging points, a Starbucks, a McDonalds and further commercial office space.
