KLW has submitted an outline application to Wealden District Council for 149 houses at Sharnfold Farm in Stone Cross, East Sussex.
The application responds to and includes 31 houses (phase 1) secured on appeal last year and incorporates 89 houses (phase 2) allocated through the Council’s draft emerging local plan.
The proposal will deliver local benefits through the provision of improved and safe access to local existing day-to-day facilities and services, including a local shop, butchers, café, public house and open spaces and bus stops to local facilities in Stone Cross, through the inclusion of footpaths throughout the site, linking with the existing public footpath network.
Importantly, it will make a valuable contribution to the Council’s housing supply in an area of chronic need and will stimulate local economic growth in the short, medium and long term.
The current application comprises phases 1 and 2 of the wider vision for Sharnfold Farm – it forms part of the site wide masterplan. The remainder of the of the site includes a further 250 homes with community buildings, flexible office spaces, arts / creative centre and extensive open spaces, amenity and wildlife parks is being promoted through the next iteration of the local plan.
