Job Title: Senior Planner and Associate Planner
Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent

KLW is a dynamic and forward-thinking independent planning and development consultancy based near Tunbridge Wells. We work across both public and private sectors, delivering expert advice and tailored planning solutions to a wide range of clients. We are seeking both a motivated Senior Planner together with an Associate Planner to join our growing team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide reliable planning advice to clients on a variety of development projects across residential and commercial sectors.

  • Manage a diverse project workload, from initial feasibility through to securing planning permission.

  • Prepare high-quality written reports, including planning statements and appeal documents.

  • Undertake site visits and appraisals to inform project strategies and advice.

  • Liaise and negotiate effectively with local authority planning officers, consultees, and stakeholders.

  • Represent clients at meetings with local authorities, community groups, and planning committees where required.

  • Contribute to the growth and profile of KLW through excellent client service and proactive business development.


About You:

  • MRTPI qualified (or working towards qualification) with several years’ experience in a planning consultancy and/or local authority.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and development process.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident, organised, and commercially minded.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently and as part of a team.
