KLW - obtains planning permission for a medical care facility
Planning permission was obtained for the re-use of an underused Victorian villa within Tunbridge Wells town centre as a medical care facility.
Planning permission was obtained for the re-use of an underused Victorian villa within Tunbridge Wells town centre as a medical care facility.
This approval will facilitate the building’s transformation into the principal premises of a highly regarded cosmetic surgeon and fertility specialist, located in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The development will significantly enhance accessibility for the local community to some of the most advanced treatments available within the county.
The scheme refines and enhances an extant planning permission, enabling the provision of additional medical facilities and office space, improvements to the internal environment, and upgraded arrangements for staff and patient access. External works include the removal of unsympathetic post-war extensions and the introduction of high-quality contemporary additions, notably a glazed courtyard infill designed to optimise the use of the site.
The approved development was carefully designed to preserve and enhance the character of the building and its wider Conservation Area context and received unanimous support at Planning Committee.
