KLW achieved the approval of reserved matters for a 150 dwelling scheme on part of the Land Securities Eastern Quarry development in Dartford Borough. The 4.7 hectare site represented the first phase to be delivered by Ward Homes, the whole site benefitting from outline planning permission for up to 6,250 residential units, new schools, employment land, shops and open space.
The Government has recently identified this area as a ‘Garden City’ with a focus on new housing development within a landscaped setting. During the application process KLW were engaged with other delivery bodies to ensure that the first phase could come forward despite the worldwide recession being experienced at the time. The scheme required KLW to organise and front a major consultation exercise. The proposals are now being delivered.
