The creation of living environments is one of the most challenging and varied areas of our work. The company has been fortunate to be involved in the design and planning processes in a variety of residential schemes ranging from large scale sustainable urban extensions, often involving many thousands of new homes, to more modest and intricate conversions of listed buildings and the creation of one-off bespoke homes.

At a more strategic level, we have considerable experience in developing planning rationale, design briefs and sustainability matrices to support the regeneration of heavily constrained urban land and to offer more sensitive responses to the environmental constraints often presented by Green Field sites, the AONB or sites of Special Interest. Our approach is carefully measured and tailored to justify the promotion and early release of residential land through the Local Development Framework process. Community engagement and public consultation form an important part of the process – we find this particularly rewarding.
